Serena Martz obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology in January of 2019 from Rutgers University, New Jersey. At Green Line, Serena works with both the R&D and marketing teams at Green Line to develop and commercialize natural raw materials. She has been instrumental in utilizing a science-based approach to developing plant-based antioxidant technologies at Green Line.
Natural antioxidants are a powerful tool for formulators to build stability and shelf life into their formulations. We will explore the multitude of natural antioxidant sources such as rosemary and green tea, and touch on the differences between natural and synthetic antioxidants. We will review the mechanism of antioxidants in respect to preventing oxidation of oils and fats. Finally, a review of the practical applications where you may want to consider using antioxidants will be presented.
