CASE STUDY - RIKOKO
• A TO Z
• KEY LEARNINGS
RIKOKO, the new luxury haircare brand based on exotic ingredients and ancient rituals from the Seychelles islands was created by husband and wife duo, expert colorist Richy Kandasamy and brand visionaire Renee Cascarina with the fundamental mission of bringing newness, harmony and a global point of view to the professional luxury haircare market.
The RIKOKO narrative includes a team of next-generation chemists and creatives formulating authentic professional products with a fresh, modern approach to professional haircare that serves a global culture. RIKOKO is made for all and was created by a colorist for colorists. Exotic design, pure ingredients, innovative format and global versatility embodies the RIKOKO brand. Formulated with rare strains of cinnamon, rich antioxidant vanilla, vetiver, wild ginger and the most cherished ingredient of them all - matured coconut oil extracted and harvested in the exotic Seychelles.
“I grew up seeing my grandmother make hair healing remedies in our kitchen; many of these recipes were passed through the generations. We wanted to re-imagine these ancient remedies through a modern lens”, says Kandasamy. “Our goal is to cater to the needs of the next generation...that is why we created the RIKOKO APP based on augmented reality technology to give both professional and consumers clients immediate access to education, product knowledge, inspiration, service and a little bit of magic. The APP interacts with the packaging and brand materials to reveal a virtual landscape. ” adds Kandasamy.
RIKOKO is divided into three collections that creates a luxurious in-salon experience while driving sales from the back bar through to retail. RIKOKO Lock starts at the basin and is a 2-phase post-color salon only service that naturally balances PH and locks in color in just 10 minutes. Followed by a vegan Shampoo and Conditioner duo that are free of sulfate, paraben and gluten; and are infused with vanilla oil, cinnamon, hibiscus and ginger ingredients to heal and protect against the adverse effects of color treatment and day-to-day buildup of toxins. RIKOKO Prism is a prepping line of leave-in conditioners that tone, maintain, heal and naturally pop color with lightweight coconut oil, vetiver and passion fruit. RIKOKO Noir, the finishing line includes the travel friendly and fan-favorite, KOKOBALM - a solid coconut oil infused with strengthening lemongrass that naturally adds weightless shine and heals with cumulative use.
Retail Prices: RIKOKO Lock Shampoo $36.00, RIKOKO Lock Conditioner $44.00, RIKOKO Prism $46.00 and RIKOKO Noir $56.00.
