Technical Account Manager, Personal Care - Job Description
Summary
IMCD is a leading company in sales, marketing and distribution of specialty chemicals and food ingredients. We represent major global producers, and our corporate headquarters are in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Technical Account Manager.
The Technical Account Manager has a dynamic and challenging role and plays an important part in IMCD’s objective to grow earnings for our strategic principals.
Essential Functions
• Proficiency of the sales cycle from manufacturing stage to the delivery and customer satisfaction stage.
• Develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business.
• Continue to adopt and utilize important tools in our digitalization journey.
• Assist in establishing relationships and creating environment to defend and preserve existing sales.
• Identifies new market opportunities as well as target builds; seeks out competitive & market information.
• Establishes and maintains processes that ensure accurate budget and forecast information for the business.
• Listen to and resolve customer complaints regarding services, products, or personnel.
• Conduct frequent account planned visits, interacting on a recurrent basis with key customers.
• Make 15 calls/week with one office day/week.
• Research and understand your target market and key economic conditions / issues at major accounts.
• Work closely with sales support, supply chain, customer service, etc.
• Formulate, monitor and improve selling plans and all sales-related activities, in alignment with the strategic imperatives of the business.
• Attend trainings for suppliers, IMCD and sales meetings.
• Consistent use of Salesforce.com for maintaining up to date customer interaction and pipeline management
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates out of a home/professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend requirements.
Travel
This position requires up to 50% travel. Frequently travel is both local and outside the local area and overnight. Travel includes customer meetings, Principal Trainings and IMCD Sales Meetings
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Three to seven years of sales experience in Personal Care.
• Personal Care industry formulation or technical experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Master’s Degree, technical degree in chemistry or biochemistry.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
